Brad Lesley

Brad “The Animal” Leslie was a 1st round pick for Cincinnati Reds in 1978. He first debuted on July 31, 1982 at 23 years old vs. San Diego Padres where he pitched 1 inning giving up one hit and walking one. While looking at his stats I came across something I wanted to share. Cincinnati Reds manager Dusty Baker had 4 plate appearances against The Animal in his career going 1 for 3 with a walk.

Jaime Garcia 8-2 vs. Reds

Jaime Garcia will be making his 13th career start against Cincinnati Reds and hopes he continues his winning ways against them. He has gone 8-2 with a 3.39 ERA against the Reds in his career. Garcia has really been a great pitcher for the Cardinals and his stats at home only make this team tougher to beat today. At home Garcia has a 20-11 record with a 2.45 ERA. The Reds will have to be very patient at the plate against Garcia and hope they can strike early like they did against Adam Wainwright yesterday.

Bronson Arroyo 8-14 vs. Cardinals

Bronson Arroyo will be making his 33rd career start against St. Louis Cardinals and hopes to get another win against a team that has had some very good success against him. Mat Latos yesterday broke his losing ways in Busch Stadium so hopefully Arroyo can do the same. 8-14 with a 4.60 ERA is not bad against a very tough team like St. Louis and I have a feeling Arroyo still has many more games to go against them.

Cueto feeling good

News of Cincinnati Reds pitcher Johnny Cueto is spreading all over twitter right now that he is feeling better and ready to come back. I wanted to post these tweets on here so everyone can take a look for themselves. Getting Johnny Cueto back in the rotation healthy will really help this ball club out. Tony Cingrani has been pitching great in Cueto’s spot but having the Reds number one starter back will really boost this team.

Wise men say…

Cincinnati Reds third baseman Todd Frazier posted a tweet today and I thought I would share it, hoping it does come true and he really does break records. If anyone can become a record breaker it would be this great hitter. Sometimes his swings look uncanny but he gets the bat on the ball and that is what counts. Keep swinging Mr. Frazier, keep swinging!

Late spring [blog] cleaning

With snow still on the ground here I am a little late with posts and with cleaning. I have finally come around to cleaning up the blog and will continue to clean it up as the days go on. Cincinnati Reds have a great team this season and I am really loving Choo at the top of the order. Votto and Choo fighting for the best OBP is a lot of fun to watch everyday. And I now say without a lie that I really enjoy watching Homer Bailey pitch now. He has really matured and become the top of the rotation kind of pitcher many Reds said he would. Go #Reds
