Cueto feeling good
News of Cincinnati Reds pitcher Johnny Cueto is spreading all over twitter right now that he is feeling better and ready to come back. I wanted to post these tweets on here so everyone can take a look for themselves. Getting Johnny Cueto back in the rotation healthy will really help this ball club out. Tony Cingrani has been pitching great in Cueto’s spot but having the Reds number one starter back will really boost this team.
My boys in St Louis tell me that Cueto threw 45 pitches off the mound today and felt good, threw everything #Reds

4 Ks in one inning!
Is Tony Cingrani ready? After watching this kid pitch I would say he is very ready. He is exactly what the Reds need at the bottom of their rotation right now. A left handed strike thrower who is not afraid to hit the strike zone. Of course teams will adjust once they get to see him more but hopefully he can fool them for a few more starts and keep winning ball games.

LHP Tony Cingrani
Baseball America’s 2011 Pioneer League Top 20 Prospects had 4 Cincinnati Reds prospects in it. Tony Cingrani, Ryan Wright, Sean Buckley and Kyle Waldrop.
Coming in at number 8 on the list was LHP Tony Cingrani who was drafted by the Reds in the 3rd round of the 2011 MLB June Amateur Draft. This 22-year-old played his first season with Billings Mustangs. Getting a 3-2 record and a 1.75 ERA in 51.1 innings. (13 games started) He got 80 strike outs and only allowed 6 walks and 1 home run. He also got a 14.0 SO/9 which was “the highest rate for pitchers with at least 50 innings in the Pioneer League since Sid Fernandez in 1981.” [Source]
“He has two very good pitches with a fastball that works 92-95 MPH and touches 98 as a lefty and a strong slider in the low to mid 80’s.” [Source] I can’t wait to see what this kid does in 2012.
